October in the Chair - composed by Melody Eotvos in 2017:

Intense, thrilling and powerful, this piece is riveting from beginning to end. This was written for one of our concert programs alongside our arrangement of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake and its rich musical colours showcase all six instruments.

In the words of Melody: “Somehow in 2017 I wrote five pieces of music. This was the second work I composed after the January birth of my first son, Jacob. Despite the dark undertones of the Neil Gaiman story which this piece is based on, the more light-hearted and playful side of the story-telling very much shines through, not unlike the way a new mothers love for her child gleams through that thick fog of sleeplessness!”
